How does the meal builder work?

Combine ingredients into meals you can save and log again with one tap.

The meal builder is where you put together everything you're eating in a meal. You can add multiple foods using any of CarbiGo's logging methods, review the details, and log the whole meal at once.

How it works

  1. When you tap a meal slot or the + button on your daily log, you're taken to the meal builder. The selected meal (e.g., "Lunch") is shown at the top — you can change it if needed.

  2. From here, choose how you want to find food:

    • Quick Food Search — type in the search bar to find foods by name or brand, or browse the tabs: All (your history, favorites, and recipes), Recent, Favorites, and My Foods.

    • Describe — tap the Describe button at the bottom to type or voice-describe your entire meal in plain language. Include serving sizes and cooking methods for better accuracy. This is the best option when you're logging multiple foods at once.

    • Capture — tap the Capture button at the bottom to snap a photo of a single dish or multiple foods (you can add text to clarify items or portions), scan a barcode, or scan a nutrition label.

  3. To add a food, tap the + button next to it. A serving selector appears where you can pick a common serving size or adjust the amount. Tap Add to [Meal] to confirm.

  4. A green checkmark appears on the food to confirm it's been added, and the meal count badge updates to show how many items are in your meal.

  5. Keep searching and adding more foods until your meal is complete — there's no limit.

  6. Tap Done logging to add all the foods to your daily log. Your calorie and macro totals update immediately.

Good to know

  • Quick Food Search is designed for finding a single food item at a time. If you try to search for multiple foods or a more detailed description, CarbiGo will prompt you to use Describe instead.

  • Swipe a food card to the left, or long-press it, to open the actions menu — view nutrition details, hide a recently logged food, or add it to favorites.

  • You can add recipes from CarbiGo's library of over 5,900 curated recipes alongside individual foods.

  • If something doesn't look right after logging, you can always go back and edit or delete individual items from your daily log.
