Net Carbs are the carbohydrates that actually impact your blood sugar. CarbiGo calculates them by subtracting fiber, sugar alcohols, and allulose from total carbs, and tracks them by default for all users — not just keto dieters.
How Net Carbs are calculated
Net Carbs = Total Carbs − Fiber − Sugar Alcohols − Allulose
Fiber, sugar alcohols, and allulose pass through your body without significantly raising blood sugar, so they don't contribute to the energy spikes and crashes that other carbs cause. By focusing on Net Carbs, you get a clearer picture of how your food is actually fueling your body.
Why CarbiGo defaults to Net Carbs
Whether you're on keto, low-carb, zone, or even a higher-carb plan, knowing your Net Carbs helps you maintain steady energy throughout the day and avoid sugar crashes. It's a more useful number than total carbs for most people.
Can I switch to Total Carbs?
Yes. If you prefer to track Total Carbs instead, go to Profile → App Preferences → Carbs to track and switch at any time.
Good to know
CarbiGo's food database includes extensive supplemental sugar alcohol and allulose data for popular foods — most other apps are missing this data entirely. This makes our Net Carb counts more accurate than what you'll find elsewhere.
Your daily macro progress on the daily log will reflect whichever carb tracking method you've chosen.
