What happens during onboarding?

A quick look at what we'll ask you when you first set up CarbiGo.

After you tap Get Started, CarbiGo walks you through a quick setup to build your personalized plan. It takes a few minutes and covers five sections: Nutrition, Motivation, Goals, Profile, and your Personalized Plan.

1. Nutrition

  • Connect your health app — CarbiGo will ask permission to read from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) to automatically pull in your weight & height, steps, and workouts. Your wearable or fitness device (Garmin, Oura, Apple Watch, Fitbit, etc.) needs to sync to your phone's health app first — CarbiGo reads the data from there. Your data stays private and secure.

  • Choose your diet type — low-carb, keto, balanced, high protein, low-fat, or zone. Each one sets a specific macro split automatically. You can optionally customize your macros.

2. Motivation

  • What's driving your health journey — this helps CarbiGo personalize your experience.

3. Goals

  • Your primary goal — lose, maintain, or gain weight

  • Your current weight (pulled from your health app if connected, or enter it manually)

  • Your target weight and preferred rate of change (if you chose lose or gain). CarbiGo recommends a safe rate based on your body weight.

4. Profile

  • Your sex, birth year, height, and activity level — from sedentary to extra active. CarbiGo uses these to calculate how many calories your body burns each day.

  • Your dietary preference — vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, or none.

5. Personalized Plan

  • CarbiGo builds your plan with daily calorie and macro targets based on everything you entered.

After onboarding

  • You'll see the Account details screen. Check the boxes to accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and confirm you're over 18, then sign up with email, Apple ID, or Google.

  • Then you'll see the 14-day free trial screen. Tap Start Free Trial to get started — no payment due today, and you can cancel anytime.

Good to know

  • You get to see your full personalized plan before you need to register or enter payment details.

  • You can change any of these settings later — nothing is locked in during onboarding.

  • Units default to imperial for US users. You can switch to metric during the height or weight steps.

  • If you skip the health app connection, you can always connect it later from your settings.

  • Your historical steps, workouts, and weight data will sync after onboarding is complete (up to 30 days of history).
